Privacy Policy

The short version

REDACTED is a pass-the-phone party game. It has no accounts, no logins and no servers holding your game data. We do not collect your personal information and we do not know who you are. Player names, avatars and selfies live only on the device you are playing on and are deleted when the game ends or the app is removed.

The app does use privacy-friendly, anonymous usage analytics so we can see which features get played and fix what breaks.

Selfies and camera access

If you choose to take a selfie for your player token, the app asks for camera permission. The photo is stored locally on the device, used only to show your token during the game, and is discarded when the game session ends. Selfies are never uploaded, shared, or used for facial recognition.

You can skip the selfie entirely and pick an icon avatar instead.

Names and game data

Names you type are optional, kept on-device for the length of the game, and never linked to any identity.

Anonymous usage analytics

The app uses Aptabase, a privacy-first, open-source analytics service, to collect anonymous usage statistics. It does not use cookies or persistent identifiers that could track you across sessions or apps, does not collect personal data such as your name, email or precise location, and does not build a permanent device fingerprint — it uses a temporary, salted identifier that is rotated regularly so activity cannot be linked back to you over time.

The anonymous, non-identifying data collected includes the type of interaction (for example, that the app was launched, or that a “coming soon” feature was tapped) and basic technical details such as app version, operating system and version, device model, and general region or locale. This information is aggregated and cannot be used to identify you.

We may also see Apple's own aggregated App Store analytics and crash reports. We do not run third-party advertising or tracking SDKs, and we do not build advertising profiles.

Data we do not collect

We do not collect or store contact information, advertising identifiers, location data, or any content you create in the app beyond the anonymous events described above.

Children's privacy

REDACTED is intended for a general audience. The app does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children, and game data never leaves the device.

Your choices

You can revoke camera permission at any time in your device settings. Deleting the app removes all locally stored game data.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated “last updated” date. Continuing to use the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.
